TECCS is a New Jersey public charter school and receives funding from the state, but it receives less than comparable public schools in Jersey City. Securing funding is an ongoing struggle for the 2019/20 school year, TECCS students will receive roughly one third less in per-pupil funding than students receive at Jersey City district schools. TECCS is one of the least funded schools in the state. But, it has been very successful in educating children.

To close the gap and provide the students with the best education that they can get, TECCS and the TECCS Family School Association (FSA) fundraise throughout the year to meet the $175,000 budget shortfall that results from our funding disparity.

That unmet annual shortfall, on an individual student basis, is approximately $475 per pupil. TECCS is run very efficiently and focuses on giving students what they need to learn, grow, and develop.
